FY 2025-26 Street Rehabilitation Project
The FY 2025-26 Street Rehabilitation Project will resurface and rehabilitate street pavement at 64 locations throughout the City to improve pavement conditions and extend the service life of the roadways.
Lemon Grove maintains approximately 70 centerline miles of public streets. Over time, pavement deteriorates from traffic loading, weather, utility trenching, and aging. When streets are not maintained in a timely manner, the cost of future rehabilitation increases significantly. This project addresses streets across the City that have been identified as needing treatment based on current pavement conditions guided by the FY 2023-2028 Pavement Management Program adopted by City Council in March 2023.
The Project was bid in May 2026 and awarded on June 16, 2026. Street treatments include full reconstruction, asphalt overlays, dig outs and patching, crack sealing, curb ramp upgrades, and pavement markings. The Project is funded using Senate Bill 1, TransNet, General Fund, and Measure T funds.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Typical construction work hours will be Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- No parking signs will be posted on barricades 72 hours before work.
- Avoid being towed in no parking zones by moving cars to driveways or other streets.
- Expect possible delays and rough driving surfaces. Drive slowly through construction zones.
- Traffic flow may be affected during construction hours.
- At periods of construction, some traffic lanes will be closed.
- Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
- Garbage & recycling collection dates/days should not be affected; however, the time of day may change, usually earlier.
