Public Comment and Participation

Members of the public are encouraged to attend City Council meetings and provide public comment on agenda items and other matters within the City Council’s subject matter jurisdiction.
Public Comment Time Limit Public comment is generally limited to three minutes per speaker, unless otherwise directed by the Mayor.
Submit Written Public Comment in Advance Written public comments may be submitted in advance by email to jpablo@lemongrove.ca.gov. Submitting comments in advance helps ensure they are received, reviewed, and made available for the Mayor, City Council, staff, and the public as part of the meeting process.
Comments Received After Noon on the Day of the Meeting For written comments received after 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting, members of the public are encouraged to bring 15 copies for distribution at the meeting. Providing paper copies assists staff in distributing late-submitted materials to the Mayor, City Council, staff, and the public when there may not be sufficient time to process and circulate them electronically in advance of the meeting.
Why Advance Submission Helps Advance submission of written comments helps promote an orderly meeting process, allows materials to be shared more efficiently, and supports timely distribution for the official meeting record. Bringing copies of late comments helps avoid delays and assists in ensuring decision-makers and attendees have access to the same information at the time of consideration.

Regular meeting agendas are generally posted at least 72 hours in advance, and special meeting agendas are generally posted at least 24 hours in advance.
