City of Lemon Grove Celebrates Pollinator Week

Lemon Grove, CA  — The City of Lemon Grove proudly joins communities across the globe in celebrating Pollinator Week. This annual event, initiated by the Pollinator Partnership in conjunction with the Busy Bee Garden Co-Op, highlights the importance of pollinators such as butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, moths and bats, and the critical roles they play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem, supporting agriculture, and sustaining biodiversity.

Now in its 14th year of national recognition, Pollinator Week has evolved into an international celebration, and this year’s theme, "Pollinators Weave Connections," emphasizes how these remarkable creatures contribute not only to our food supply and natural landscapes but also to our culture, art, and community well-being.

“Pollinators are essential to our natural beauty and to our ecosystem in Lemon Grove,” said Lemon Grove Public Works Director, Izzy Murguia. “This week is a reminder that small, everyday actions, like planting native flowers can have a big impact in protecting these vital species.”

The City of Lemon Grove proclaims June 16th through the 22nd as National Pollinator week by way of Official Proclamation available here.
