Inspections

The City of Lemon Grove Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau provides a wide range of prevention services including fire

safety inspections, plan review, and construction field inspections.

 Beware of Fraudulent Business Inspections

Fire safety inspections are provided to businesses in the community based on code requirements, requests from other governmental agencies, and when initiating a new business in the City. It is the goal of the Lemon Grove Fire Department to provide a safe environment for those who live and work in the City.

If you need to schedule a fire safety inspection please feel free to contact our business office at 619-825-3835.

Plan Review

Plan review for projects in the City is forwarded to the fire department through the City’s Community Development Department. If you are required to install a fire protection system for your project, those plans may be delivered directly to the fire department for review.

Plans submitted directly to the fire department will need to be picked up at City Hall as the fire department does not accept payments for plan review at its office.

Field Inspections

Required construction field inspections may be scheduled by contacting the fire department business office at 619-825-3835. It is highly recommended to schedule field inspections at least 48 hours in advance, though other requests may be honored based on time available.
