Apply today to become a Planning Commissioner
The City of Lemon Grove is now accepting applications to fill five positions on the Lemon Grove Planning Commission. The Planning Commission will act as the City's planning agency and consider matters related to planning and development. Each of the five commission positions will serve a four-year term, but initial appointments will be staggered to help ensure continuity on the Commission. Five positions are now open to Lemon Grove residents who are registered voters. Planning Commission meetings are tentatively scheduled for the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and additional meetings may be scheduled on an as-needed basis. Meetings will be held at the Lemon Grove Community Center (3146 School Lane).
Applicants must have a genuine interest in the commission’s mission and in serving the Lemon Grove community. The Commission falls within the guidelines of the Brown Act (California Government Code §54950, et seq.) and all meetings will be open to the public. Agendas will be posted on the City website 72-hours prior to the Planning Commission meetings. In addition, commissioners are required to file Conflict of Interest Statements with the City Clerk on an annual basis and complete ethics training. Those forms are public records which are available to the public upon request.
Applications are available here, at City Hall (3232 Main Street) and on the City’s website. Questions on the application process may be referred to the staff contact, Development Services Director David De Vries, by phone: 619-825-3800 or email: email@example.com. Applications must be filed with the staff contact no later than 5 PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 by 5 PM. Interviews will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 6 p.m.
