Illegal Marijuana Retail Store Shut Down
On September 27, 2017 at approximately 8:00 a.m., Fire Marshall Chris Jensen served a search warrant for health and safety violations at 3648 Olive Street.
Access to the building was denied by the occupants and forced entry was made by the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail Team. The City of Lemon Grove’s Fire Marshall, Building Official and Code Enforcement Officer entered the premises to document illegal building alterations, illegal electrical wiring, illegal living quarters and illegal business operations.
Undisclosed amounts of marijuana, marijuana infused products, cash and the computers used on-site were recovered from the building by City officials.
On September 7, 2017, the building was posted as unsafe to occupy. Several attempts to inspect the building were made with refusal of right to entry. Daily citations and fines have been issued to the property owner and business owner since the illegal operation was discovered. The property owner is in violation of unpermitted additions, an unpermitted bathroom and shower, unpermitted framing, electrical, mechanical and plumbing, an unpermitted bedroom, an unpermitted marijuana retail operation and unpermitted outdoor storage.
The building has been declared unsafe, unfit for human occupancy and a public nuisance by Building Official Bill Elizarraras and Fire Marshall Chris Jensen.
Prospective marijuana retailers who wish to obtain a business license and operate legally within the City of Lemon Grove must complete the City’s process of obtaining a Zoning Clearance and a Conditional Use Permit.Illegal Marijuana Retail Store Shut Down 09-27-17
